Tim Wu

Tim Wu is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times.  He is a professor at Columbia Law School and has written widely on the media, technology and competition policy.  He worked at the Supreme Court, the Federal Trade Commission, the New York Attorney General’s Office and the White House.   

Mr. Wu is perhaps best known for the coining of the phrase “net neutrality.” He has been named one of America’s 100 most influential lawyers by The National Law Journal; several times to Politico’s list of 50 most influential figures in American politics, and to the Scientific American 50 of policy leadership.   He is the author of the books “The Master Switch:  The Rise and Fall of Information Empires,” and “The Attention Merchants: The Epic Scramble to Get Inside our Heads.”
