As the co-founder and Senior Managing Principal of CYBERMinds Research Institute Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, he chairs the Cybersecurity and Information Privacy Policy Committee and is an active member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) . He collaborates with organizations to understand and mitigate privacy and cybersecurity risks through innovative research and implementing industry best practices. He is also a founding member of the Cyversity South Florida Chapter, dedicated to enhancing opportunities for women, underrepresented communities, and veterans in the cybersecurity field.
He is the past chapter president and member of the executive leadership Governance Board for the ISACA South Florida chapter and a former member of the Technology and Innovation Steering Committee of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) South Florida chapter. He holds membership in the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and InfraGard (SFL Chapter). Additionally, Perdereaux-Weekes serves as an associate research fellow and member of the Privacy Policy Committee with the Americas Institute for Cybersecurity Leadership (AICL), a non-partisan think tank focused on cybersecurity discourse relevant to North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Dr. Perdereaux-Weekes is a recent graduate of the Florida State University Law Juris Masters (J.M) Program, specializing in Privacy and Cybersecurity Law (2024). He holds a Doctorate in Information Security from St. Thomas University (Miami, FL) (2021), a Master of Science in Information Security from Nova Southeastern University (2017), and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and International Business from Florida Atlantic University (1999). His research examined the impact of global privacy regulations on consumer willingness to disclose or withhold personally identifiable information (PII).
He holds advanced certifications, including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) from ISACA International. He is also a Certified Payment Security Practitioner and a CPFA-certified Professional Forensic Analyst
Research Focus: Global Data Privacy Regulation, Risk Management, Biometrics, Consumer Data Protection, Privacy Disclosure, and Policy Compliance. He is a subject matter expert on the EU’s GDPR, California’s CCPA, Brazil’s LGPD, and HIPAA, and he has extensive knowledge of cybersecurity maturity model certification (CMMC) compliance.
