Tony Sheppard

Tony is an award-winning Educational Technologist with a history of collaboration with leading schools, educationalists and EdTech providers.

Tony is the Information Governance Lead at a leading EdTech vendor, continuing to improve their approaches to privacy by design and by default, supporting schools and organisations as they make decisions on how to implement the wide range of IT and Classroom Management tools.

Tony Sheppard has a broad range of experience from play leadership, sports coaching, EdTech, school leadership and information governance. He has been a long contributor of guidance to schools on data protection and information management, through Becta, Northamptonshire County Council, communities such as EduGeek.net and PrivTech Nation, and as the former Head of Services at GDPR in Schools, Tony supported the creation of the DfE’s GDPR Toolkit for Schools and continues to drive collaboration through a range of communities and peer groups, including the Student Data Privacy Consortium and their work on the National Data Privacy Agreement for US Schools, Districts and Alliances, and the Global Education Security Standard.
