Tanya M. Richardson

Tanya is a privacy and cybersecurity attorney and an enthusiastic advocate for privacy, security and data ethics. She is currently a Senior Counsel on the Privacy and Cybersecurity legal team at Uber, where she provides strategic advice with a focus on privacy by design.

In prior roles, Tanya served as Vice President and General Counsel for a global cybersecurity firm and was a Legal Director at Kite Pharma, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company.

Tanya is a member of the Education Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), where she provides guidance on the organization’s development of live events and web conferences.

She is designated by the IAPP as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) and a Privacy Law Specialist (PLS), maintains CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/C, CIPM, and CIPT IAPP certifications, and is an ISACA Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE).

Tanya holds degrees from Northern Kentucky University and the University of Illinois College of Law. She frequently serves as a mentor and speaker for non-profit organizations promoting the advancement of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
