Simon Pillinger

Simon began his career in NHS patient experience before jumping head-first into the world of data protection. Since then he’s worked in acute NHS and residential social care, helping deploy new digital technologies at pace during the pandemic.  He now works in health research supporting work to accelerate treatment in neuroscience, mental health, and dementias. 

He brings together data protection expertise with customer service experience, and technical knowledge to explain the ins and outs of the sometimes dizzyingly bewildering reality of the health research landscape.

Simon is keenly interested in elegant solutions to problems which both enable progress whilst simultaneously protecting and preserving privacy and confidentiality.
