Melinda McLellan is a Partner in BakerHosteler’s New York office. As co-leader of the Privacy Governance and Technology Transactions Team she advises clients on complex privacy, cybersecurity, and data management matters within the firm’s Chambers-ranked national Digital Assets and Data Management Group. Melinda regularly works with clients on the development and implementation of biometric technology, including compliance strategies to address an increasingly complicated web of local, state, federal, and foreign data protection laws regarding the use of biometric identifiers and facial recognition software. Heading up the firm’s GDPR compliance initiative, Melinda counsels clients on how to navigate cross-border data transfer issues and has led a wide variety of enterprise-wide foreign privacy law compliance projects. Melinda is a 2005 graduate of Harvard Law School where she served as Executive Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal, and she is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (certified CIPP/US and CIPP/E).
