Joe O’Murchadha

Joe O’Murchadha is the Lead Senior Legal Counsel of Data Protection and Privacy at SAP in North America, where he represents the Global DPO and is responsible for managing the Privacy Network of North America.  He sits on the SAP Integrated Risk Office (IRO) North America Regional Compliance Workgroup as the Privacy Representative and oversees global framework interoperability strategy, holistic data privacy risk management, and the emerging technology, and the emerging intersection between privacy, security, and antitrust regulations. Before starting at SAP, Joe spent six years at Lidl, as the Head of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and Data Protection Officer for Lidl in the United States. He also held previous roles with E.ON. and the UN International Organization for Migration. He holds a BA in Economics and I.T. and a Law degree from the National University of Ireland, an MBS in Business from the Waterford Institute of Technology, a diploma in International Relations for LSE and a Certificate of Data Protection Practice from the Law Society of Ireland.
