Managing Director, Crowe
Haibo Zhang is a recognized data science expert holding more than 15 years of software company and financial services data science expertise. Haibo leads Crowe’s Global Financial Crime Data Analytics practice as a Managing Director from Crowe’s London office. This team is leveraging Haibo’s extensive experience to create breakthrough advances in applying advanced analytical context to implement machine learning, network analytics, and topological data analysis to help fight financial crime.
Haibo has held key product management, architecture and data science roles at major AML software companies including Searchspace, Fortent and Actimize. At HSBC he was responsible for delivering technology and analytical components of successful AML regulatory remediation programs as the US Head of Analytics, Global Head of Analytics, and Global Head of Applied Analytics in their Global Risk Analytics functions and Financial Crime Threat Mitigation functions. Working with third party partners he has successfully applied machine intelligence techniques to AML projects.
Haibo holds a PhD degree in Computational Biology from Rutgers University and New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Masters in Molecular Microbiology from the Nankai University; he is the author of several papers on these subjects and was a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
