Gemma oversees operational Data Protection practices at for the BNP Paribas Group. In this role, she is responsible for a global network of over 150 Data Protection Officers, Coordinators and specialists who work to protect the personal data of employees and customers. Prior to this, Gemma worked in BNP Paribas Cyber Security teams overseeing global projects and automation initiatives to protect the banks’ assets. Gemma is global coordinator for the BNP Paribas’ Women in Cyber internal network which she co-founded in 2019. The network now has 2k+ members over 24 countries. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Gemma worked for Deloitte as part of its Cyber Risk practice in London and Paris delivering complex projects for clients in banking, utilities and pharma. This included a focus on Data Protection. Pre-Deloitte, for 10 years, Gemma held various roles at Control Risks, as business risk consultancy, delivering political, integrity, security and cyber risk projects for clients in many sectors across countries as varied as Nigeria, South Africa, Guinea, Algeria, the US and India. Gemma is passionate about Risk, cyber security, technology, innovation and diversity topics.
