Diana Schwarz

Diana Schwarz is a Digital and Media Partner, based in Johannesburg. Diana is an admitted attorney with 16 years’ experience gained in various fields of law and is now a focused digital, media and privacy lawyer.

Diana is a well respected as a social media law expert and privacy specialist in South Africa. She is invited to comment as thought leader in the field and has written numerous articles on social media law in various publications.

She has vast experience in the areas of cybersecurity law, labour law, media/entertainment law, regulatory compliance, child rights and human rights. Diana has worked on multi-jurisdictional privacy projects. As a result of her experience she has a good understanding of data privacy and cybersecurity issues.

Diana is a child rights activist and is at the forefront of advocating for the protection of children and their rights in the area of social media law. She also advocates against human trafficking and gender based violence and harassment (“GBVH”).

Prior to joining Dentons, Diana successfully ran her own firm, Diana Schwarz Attorneys, a niche boutique firm providing social media law, data protection and privacy law, labour law, commercial law and litigation, media/entertainment law, regulatory compliance and human/child rights/GBVH legal services.
