Carolyn Bigg is Global Co-Chair of DLA Piper’s data protection, privacy and security practice, and heads the firm’s data privacy and cyber practices across Asia Pacific. With almost 20 years’ experience in the data privacy field, her clients turn to her as a trusted adviser on their critical and ground-breaking data projects. She works with global and multinational clients, helping them to implement and manage their data privacy compliance programmes across Asia, with a particular focus on navigating the complex and evolving data framework in China. She has in-depth expertise in the hotel, financial services, insurance and automobile sectors, acting on cutting-edge big data analytics, AI and data localisation projects. Her clients include Dell, Hilton, Burberry, IHG and Standard Chartered, as well as numerous US technology and SaaS businesses looking to launch or expand their local presence in China.
Carolyn was included in Global Data Review’s inaugural Women in Data list in 2019 and is a member of GDR’s Insight Panel. She continues to be a much sought after practitioner and thought leader in the data protection space.
