Ravi Nallamothu

I am a Healthcare leader passionate about Hospital medicine and its influence on patient safety, health care quality, and graduate medical education. I possess extensive experience in recruiting, developing, and managing physicians. My expertise is in developing high standard practice environment, effective and efficient inpatient care, and implementing necessary changes to programs and policies to fulfill the current needs in Hospital Medicine. My first leadership experience was in 2011 as a Medical Director for Clinical Decision Unit at Southeast Health, where I was instrumental in opening a 10-bed unit, creating protocols, hiring and training nurses, and educating physicians on observation medicine. In 2013, I became Associate Medical Director for the Hospital Medicine team at Southeast Heath where I comanaged a team of 12 physicians. in 2015 I was promoted to Medical Director for this team. I was instrumental in growing this team into a passionate group of 34 physicians focused on quality improvement, revenue optimization, and improving patient safety. I enabled the usage of performance-based metrics to leverage the financial success of a growing healthcare organization. In 2017, As a Core Faculty in Internal medicine and Site Director for Internal medicine Residency at Southeast Health, I assisted in preparing the program application to ACGME, engaging medical staff in being part of the new teaching program, and Promoting academic culture among medical staff. We successfully matriculated our first class of Internal medicine residents in 2018. In 2020, I took the responsibility as Program Director to start a Transitional Year residency at Southeast health. Successfully created the program and was instrumental in obtaining Initial Accreditation from ACGME. We matriculated for our first class of 12 Residents in 2022. With a strong interest in medical informatics and vast experience in the rollout of Electronic health records, I am about to begin a new journey as Chief Health information officer at Southeast Health.
