Data Privacy and Internet Reg Lead
Nicola is a Director leading out on Data Privacy and Internet Regulation. Her industry background is predominantly in Tech organisations and she has led on some of Deloitte Ireland’s largest privacy engagements across all sectors, supporting clients with all elements of privacy risk. She is an SME in Privacy by Design (PbD), including the use of PbD across digital products and services (e.g. AI, Metaverse). She has extensive experience across end-to-end data protection: managing GDPR maturity assessments at system and department level as well as developing and operationalising data protection frameworks, providing privacy SME support for remediation programmes and data retention remediation as well as carrying out DPIAs across the use of new technologies. She has recently been appointed as an external expert to the Council of Europe Data Protection Unit. Her qualifications include a Masters in Commercial Law and a Diploma in Technology Law. She is a Fellow of the IAPP (FIP) and holds a CIPP/E and CIPM. Nicola was shortlisted in the Women in IT Ireland awards 2021 in the category of Security Leader of the Year. She is a strong advocate for Women in Cyber and actively participates in Diversity & Inclusion and Mental Health initiatives.
