Manage the network (Fiber ring/LAN/WAN/Internet/disaster recovery site), telecommunication (VOIP, radio, school public announcement system), data storage (SAN/NAS), cybersecurity, Help desk, Desktop support with all hardware and access security infrastructure. Projects include: ESSER II Fund $3,000,000 for upgrading power generators. Microsoft Smart City initiative in Houston Texas. Coordinated between the district and Microsoft to participate in Microsoft Smart building with City of Houston Smart Transportation. Aldine ISD was selected to be part of smart building, two schools were selected to be part of Smart Building initiative. Erate funded (8 million dollars) network upgrade project at 12 high schools and 9th grade schools. Upgraded campus LAN infrastructure, increased classroom wifi signal coverage to 100%, upgraded power and environmental control in campus communication rooms. Bond funded (99 million dollars) network upgrade project at 64 schools. Upgraded campus LAN infrastructure, increased classroom wifi signal coverage to 100%, upgraded school security access and monitoring system, transformed traditional classrooms into interactivity classrooms, upgraded power and environmental control in campus communication rooms, upgraded campus public announcement system and replaced campus phone system with VOIP system. Erate funded fiber replacement project. Built a double link ring redundant fiber infrastructure to provide the district a high available network path. Handheld radio infrastructure project. Create a handheld radio infrastructure network to cover 91 buildings in the district to ensure each building has full radio coverage. Worked with the district police department to enhance radio communications to cope with emergencies. Security infrastructure project. Upgrading all campus alarm systems. Campus kitchen security project. Upgrading 23 schools’ kitchen access control. Data Center upgrade project. Upgraded data center cabling infrastructure, core routers, fiber pathways, data storage capacity, Virtual computing environment, database cluster infrastructure and air conditioning zones. State Cyber-security initiatives. Upgraded Cyber-security infrastructure to integrate multiple internet pathways to create high availability internet to our students. COVID-19 crisis. Responsible for developing and implementing Employee Work From Home procedures and Student Technology Deployment during the crisis. 1:1 student device initiative, purchased, configured, distributed, and inventory 77,000 student devices and 20,395 hotspots within 7 months.
