DESIGN/BUILD ENVIRONMENT: When working on a project it is key that ‘performance and transparency’ go hand in hand to ensure that products used on a project not only meet the ‘basis of design’ for installation and performance, but also contribute to the health and well-being of the installation team and the occupants. In my 20+ years of experience in field engineering and training, I spent the first part of my career collaborating on projects all around the world within the Industrial HVAC field for both the commercial and process-cooling industry. Even before words such as ‘green’, ‘sustainability’ & ‘transparency’ became common in the business vernacular, my focus has always been on the environment and protecting both ‘human-health’ and our ‘natural resources’. Early in my career I was involved in two specific aspects regarding the environment: 1.) the phasing out, production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances (Montreal Protocol Treaty) ie: chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and halons 2.) the importance of IAQ (indoor air quality) within occupied spaces, ie: office buildings. ** I have recently joined Honeywell Building Technologies to help support our new ‘Sustainable Building Technologies’ (SBT) initiative. In this role, I have the opportunity to develop strong working relationships both within Honeywell and with external institutions and key customers, ie: commercial building owners. ** While working with the MAPEI Group for the past 16 years I applied my knowledge of Industrial and commercial HVAC/R (moisture management) and passion for both performance and sustainability to the built and flooring industry, working on projects all over the world, from high-rise building to museums. DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION As a Colorado native, I developed an appreciation for the environment and protecting the natural resources we have been entrusted with in order to use them responsibly. My passion for travel, languages & cultures has taken me all over the world, having learned two other languages, Italian and Spanish. My commitment to equity and environmental justice in working with all backgrounds in promoting diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI) on projects and personal interactions. I have developed an appreciate for points of view in pursuing ‘social equity’, opening my eyes to other ways of thinking and methods in achieving a more sustainable future for all humans.
