Gerard Hurley

Gerard has spent over 15 years working in financial services. He is an experienced fintech Compliance Leader and former regulator, combining a strong regulatory background with a focus on customers, systems, and controls as well as an emphasis on partnerships to achieve fast and sustainable business growth. Prior to joining Chip, Gerard was Funding Circle’s Head of Compliance (Europe) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, and before that, Lead Associate at the Financial Conduct Authority.

At Chip Gerard has led on getting Chip FCA authorised and working closely with partners to launch FSCS eligible bank accounts, savings accounts and investment accounts. Gerard is currently working on helping launch access to collectibles and alternative assets and launching Crypto products later this year. He is passionate about Open Finance, combating financial crime and getting more people saving for the long term.
