In this session, we will discuss the changing regulatory landscape in Germany and the EU as it relates to supply chain due diligence. In doing so, we’ll outline best practices for building a world-class supplier due diligence program.
The new German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and other forthcoming requirements, such as the EU Directive on Mandatory Human Rights, Environmental, and Good Governance Due Diligence, shine a spotlight on how important it is for organizations to vet their suppliers. Now, more than ever, due diligence is critical to identifying trustworthy suppliers and mitigating potential risks.
Proper third-party due diligence enables organizations to screen third parties against sanctions lists, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering (AML), as well as conduct other compliance checks that can provide insight into potential issues across key risk areas such as ethics, ESG, security, and privacy – helping to inform decision-making, provide insight for mitigation efforts, and enable continuous supplier monitoring.
